Guava Jam

Method
 

  1. Guava Jam
    Yield: Approximately 1.5–2 litres
    Ingredients
    • 18 ripe guavas
    • 250 ml water
    • 1 kg white sugar
    • 5 ml BlixSam Granadilla Flavouring
    Method
    1. Wash the guavas thoroughly and cut them into quarters.
    2. Place the guavas and 250 ml water in a large pot.
    3. Simmer for 40–50 minutes until the fruit is very soft.
    4. Mash the cooked guavas and press them through a sieve to remove the seeds.
    5. Return the smooth guava pulp to the pot.
    6. Add the sugar and stir until completely dissolved.
    7. Bring to a rolling boil and cook for 25–35 minutes, stirring regularly to prevent sticking.
    8. Test the jam by placing a spoonful on a cold plate. If it wrinkles when pushed with your finger, it is ready.
    9. Remove from the heat and stir in 5 ml BlixSam Granadilla Flavouring.
    10. Pour the hot jam into sterilised jars and seal immediately.
